Busy Day On First Day Of Early Voting In Area Today
The first day of Early Voting was a busy one at the Election Commissions in our area, with a steady stream of voters on hand all day. At Henry County, Election Commission Director Delaina Green reported 397 voted in person today (401 total with absentee), which compares with 370 on the first day of early voting in July 2014. The total for today was 481, with 126 voting on the Democratic ballot and 350 on the Republican. In Obion County, Director Leigh Ann Schlager said Friday’s total was 511, which is much higher than on the first day of voting total of 354 in July of 2014. That is broken down with 105 voting on the Democratic ballot; 355 voting on the Republican ballot; and 79 voting on the general only ballot.
