Henry County Shelters Opening At 9 P.M. Tonight

Paris, Tenn.—With an updated weather report in hand, opening of Henry County’s storm shelters has been pushed back to 9 p.m. tonight.

Henry County Sheriff Monte Belew said the onset of severe storms has been pushed back to later this evening. Earlier, Belew had announced the county storm shelters would be opened at 4 p.m. today.

Belew said the same shelters will still be open—at Lakewood, Harrelson and Inman Schools—and that the shelter at Henry School also will be open tonight. Deputies will be at shelters, he said.

The shelters will remain open as long as the weather threat exists.
