Paris Boxer Wins Western Qualifier In Reno

Paris, Tenn.–Paris Boxer Cam’ron Patton won the 2019 Western Qualifier over the weekend in Reno, Nevada. The win allows him to advance to the National Tournament in December and will provide him the opportunity to train at the U.S. Olympic Training Center.
Patton and Paris Boxing Gym Coach Derik Moon traveled to Reno for the week-long boxing tournament and Patton’s first match was against the No. 1 seed in the country, Carl Garrison of Texas.
Patton gave Garrison an eight count in the first round and was unanimously named the winner. Patton then fought in the Championship bout against Juan Gonzalez of California. Once again, Patton won by unanimous decision.
If Patton wins at the National Tournament in December, he will earn a spot on the 2020 Junior High Performance Team and will train at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado. He also will have the opportunity to travel and compete internationally. Patton competes in the Junior Male 176 class.
Coach Moon said “ We are very proud of Cam’ron. He works hard and wants to thank all of his supporters.”
Cam’ron Patton is the 14 year old son of Fran Patton and he attends Inman Middle School.
