Lots Of Action At Family Fun Day

Paris, Tenn.–Deputy Ricky Wade, left, plays the target while Cpl. Dalton Watson handles his K9 Jagr as Henry County Sheriff Monte Belew looks on at Saturday’s Family Fun Day at McNeill Park. A large crowd was on hand for the first-ever event which was held in conjunction with the youth soccer games that were ongoing. Other demos and talks were provided by Belew and his K9 Si and Cpl. Stacey Bostwick and Rowdy. The sheriff’s office grilled hot dogs and hamburgers and provided chips, drinks, cotton candy and popcorn for every one. Giveaways included Play Stations, tablets, bikes and more. No tax payer money was spent on the event; financing was through surplus equipment that was sold. Tennessee Highway Patrol and Air Evac helicopters landed on the fields and provided tours for everyone. Bouncy houses and games also were provided. (Shannon McFarlin photo).
