Fugitive Found With $40,000 Worth Of Meth

Martin, Tenn.–A fugitive from Missouri transporting illegal narcotics was arrested in Weakley County Wednesday. He was found with a pound of meth and an ounce of heroin. Street value of the meth is $40,000.
Investigators from the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department determined that a man wanted out of Missouri on felony charges was near a fast food restaurant in Martin and that he was transporting the illegal narcotics.
Investigators Marty Plunk and James Sanders located 52-year-old Michael Gene Rysdam of Vanduser, Missouri, and took him into custody on the Missouri warrant.
Rysdam’s vehicle was towed to the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department and a search warrant for the vehicle was obtained. During the execution of that search warrant investigators recovered almost a pound of methamphetamine, an ounce of heroin, digital scales and plastic baggies.
The street value of a pound of methamphetamine if it was sold one gram at a time is over $40,000 and an ounce of heroin costs about $800 dollars. Rysdam had over $1,000 on his person at the time of his arrest.
Michael Gene Rysdam was charged in Weakley County with being a fugitive from justice in Missouri, possession of schedule 1 heroin with intent to resale, possession of schedule 2 meth with intent to resale and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Weakley County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Martin Tn Police Department.
