Paris, Tenn.—In her report at Thursday night’s Paris City Commission meeting, Finance Director Traci Shannon said retail sales tax revenue was up 1.12% for the month of August and also up 1.47% for the fiscal year-to-date.
Expenditures exceeded revenues in the General Fund for the month of September and the city is also behind fiscal year-to-date. “We had several large expenses including the Building & Property insurance. Engineering Fees for various projects, Roofing for the Public Works building, and we spent $450,000 on material for milling & paving the streets,” she said.
The city issued three business licenses in September:
