Henry, Tenn.–Hwy 79 S in Henry County is shut down in the area of Van Dyke Road due to a fatal accident involving a semi. A dispatcher at the Henry County Sheriff’s Office told WENK/WTPR both sides of the highway are shut down and traffic is being re-routed.
Henry County Volunteer Fire Department personnel said due to a semi being involved this detour is expected to last for several hours while the Tennessee Highway Department does their investigation.
Multiple agencies are at the scene, including the sheriff’s office, Henry Volunteer Fire Department, Henry County EMS and the THP.
Early details of the accident are sketchy. Details will be reported when the THP releases the accident report.
