The McKenzie Police Department are investigating a death on Elm Street following a disturbance early Saturday morning.
Officers responded to a disturbance complaint at an apartment on Elm Street around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, according to a Facebook post on the department’s page.
Responding officers found Reginald Cozart, 42, of McKenzie, unresponsive on the floor of the apartment. EMS arrived within minutes and confirmed that Cozart was deceased.
McKenzie Police investigators and the TBI responded to the scene to investigate Cozart’s death and interviewed multiple witnesses to the disturbance.
The post said no suspects are being sought at this time.
Cozart’s body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Nashville for autopsy. The investigation of the circumstances leading to Cozart’s death is ongoing.
