Buchanan, Tenn.–Tennessee Governor Bill Lee led the groundbreaking ceremonies for The Lodge at Paris Landing State Park Friday afternoon. A large crowd was on hand for the ceremonies, including Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation Commissioner David Salyers, Tennessee Department of General Services Commissioner Christi W. Branscom and numerous state and local officials.
The groundbreaking was held on the site where The Lodge is being constructed which overlooks Kentucky Lake. After the ceremony, everyone was invited to a reception at the Don Ridgeway Convention Center where tours of a model room were conducted and renderings of what The Lodge will look like were on display.
The room model included bedroom, bathroom, sitting area and patio. Project architects said each room–as well as the common areas at The Lodge–will have views of Kentucky Lake.
Paris Landing State Park Manager Zach Tinkle said, “This is an opportunity to offer a new level of hospitality to our guests, right on the shores of beautiful Kentucky Lake.”
The Lodge will be 103,000 square feet and include 99 rooms.
Henry County Mayor Brent Greer and Paris Mayor Carlton Gerrell spoke of the economic benefits The Lodge will bring to Henry County.
