Horse & Buggy Operator Injured In Collision

Wingo, Ky.–A man operating a horse and buggy was transported to the hospital after a collision Friday in Graves County.
At approximately 4:08 p.m. Friday, deputies from the Graves County Sheriff Office responded to a vehicle verses horse buggy collision near the Wingo community.
Deputy Jacob Hamm’s investigation showed that Trevor Hicks, age 26 of Clinton, was traveling eastbound on St Rt 339 E when he came over a hill and struck a horse and buggy in the rear that was also traveling eastbound on St Rt 339 East. Hicks reportedly tried to steer around the buggy, but was unable to avoid a collision.
The owner of the horse and buggy Nevin Byler, age 29 of Wingo, was transported from the scene by Mayfield/Graves County EMS to Baptist Health in Paducah for non life threatening injuries. Hicks had no injuries.
Deputy Hamm was assisted at the scene by Deputy Weldon, Sgt./Detective Edwards, Sheriff Hayden, Mayfield/Graves County EMS, Kentucky State Police, and the Wingo Fire Department.
