Camden, Tenn.–The Benton County Animal Shelter will be shut down for two weeks due to a virus.
Shelter officials said during the shut down, they will be doing deep cleaning and sanitizing the facility along with monitoring certain animals. Animals will not be accepted at the shelter during the shut down, but some animals will still be able to be adopted out by appointment.
“We are sorry that we are not able to take any animals in, but we are making sure to contain the issue and be able to open and be fully functional in a couple of weeks,” they said.
“We are very sorry for any inconvenience that this may put the county in,” they said. “Please be very understanding if we are not as responsive as we normally are to Facebook posts or calls that come into the shelter due to being short-staffed and extremely busy. We ask for no negativity towards this post. We are sorry that we are not able to take any animals in, but we are making sure to contain the issue and be able to open and be fully functional in a couple of weeks.”
The shelter asks that any donations of cleaning supplies, food, and blankets are always greatly accepted.
