Paris, Tenn.–Desiree Heckard, Family Support Coordinator with TARP, was the guest speaker at last week’s Paris Quota Club. PJ French was installed as a new member and was sponsored by Jill Snow.
TARP stands for Training, Advocate, Referral and Peer Support. The program serves eight counties as a non-profit organization, addressing the needs of those with physical, mental, intellectual and emotional disabilities. They work with people of all ages and races. They also go to the schools and work with special education students to teach them independent living skills and other skills.
TARP also works with people who need to learn to drive and those who need to learn to read, write and other skills needed for independent living.
Pecans are still available from Quota members and several businesses in town. $12 for halves and pieces and $10 for specialty pecans.
Deborah Mell was named to fill a one year term of Director on the Board of Directors.
