Paris DARE Graduation Held

Paris, Tenn.–The Paris DARE program held its annual graduation ceremony on Friday afternoon at the Krider Performing Arts Center for fifth graders of Paris Elementary. Hosted by the Paris Police Department, Officer Jordan Klutts, Officer Amber Roaten, Police Chief Charles Elizondo, PES Principal Dr. Chip Gray and guest speaker Emily Ann Smith, senior at Henry County High School. Daren the Lion was also on hand to congratulate the children. The students were all given a DARE t-shirt, graduation certificates and goody bags. The students were required to write an essay on what the program is about and out of 180 students, two were selected for special recognition:  Johanna Teague and Thomas Richardson. The DARE Program is also offering the students a skating party on January 25th from 12-4 at Paris Wheels Skating Rink. If they wear the DARE t-shirts they received, and will get into the skating rink free of charge as well as get two slices of pizza and a drink. (Kristina Dufresne photo).
