Martin, Tenn.–A Memphis man was arrested on several weapons and alcohol charges early Saturday morning in Martin.
Weakley County Sheriff’s Captain Randall McGowan said about 1 a.m., Weakley County Sheriff’s Deputy Shannon Neal stopped a vehicle on Hannings lane after he clocked the vehicle speeding on University Street in Martin Tennessee.
The driver of the vehicle , 20 year old Adrian Jamal Jones of Memphis exited the vehicle and was told to approach the front of the deputy’s car. The deputy observed a pistol in the waistband of Jones and as he was removing that weapon he smelled what he believed was an alcoholic beverage smell coming from Jones.
The recovered pistol was a Glock 9 mm pistol with a loaded 10 round magazine. Jones was patted down for more weapons and a loaded 30 round AR-15 semi automatic rifle magazine was found in his pants pocket. Jones gave consent to search his vehicle and an AR-15 semi automatic rifle was found in the trunk with a 2nd loaded 30 round magazine. Adrian Jamal Jones was charged with the following crimes:

driving while intoxicated

violation of the drinking age law

possession of a weapon while under the influence

speeding

violation of the open container law

driving on a suspended drivers license
Jones posted a 2,500.00 bond and was released from jail with a court date to be determined
