Paris, Tenn.–Meeting in short session Monday afternoon, the Henry County 911 board approved the allocation of $35,000 into Phase II of the county’s Emergency Radio Project.
In April of 2019, the county authorized the award of a bid for Phase I of the project and authorized purchase of a radio tower on Rabbit Creek Rd. in Buchanan. Purchase of the property allowed the radio project to move forward.
The goal of the project is to create a new and improved public safety communications network for the county and improve emergency communications for all first responders throughout the entire county.
The project is nearing the end of Phase I by December 31 and at that point the county sheriff’s office and EMS will be moved to a digital system. With Phase II, the city police and fire departments will move to digital.
