Buchanan, Tenn.–A Paris man was arrested for DUI after his truck crashed into a pole at a lake area business and he reportedly went inside and passed out.
Rickey Offord, age 62, of 609 Pine Ridge, Paris, was transported to jail after his arrest by Henry County Sheriff’s Cpl. Stacey Bostwick on Sunday.
Off-duty Deputy Brent Smith saw the truck crash into a pole at Kirk’s Store in Buchanan. According to the report, the driver exited the truck while it was still on the pole, went into the bathroom at Kirk’s and passed out.
Upon the arrival of Cpl. Bostwick, driver was described as unsteady and swaying as he went back outside. Bostwick detected an odor of alcohol and Offord reportedly said he had consumed about six beers prior to coming to the store.
