Greenfield, Tenn.–The name of the victim in Saturday’s fatal fire in Greenfield has been released.
Greenfield Fire Chief Bob Dudley said the victim was James Bailey, age 21. His service dog was killed in the fire, also.
Dudley said the fire was the first fatal fire in Greenfield in 17 years.
Dudley said the fire was contained to one room of the home, located on South Meridian Street. The fire started around 5 p.m., he said. The fire began in the bedroom and was accidental, he said. “There was no foul play, no criminal activity,” he said.
The Greenfield department received mutual aid from the Sharon Fire Department and other assistance from the Greenfield Police, Weakley Co. Sheriff’s Office, Weakley County Municipal Electrical System, Weakley Co. EMS, THP and the TBI.
