Marsha Blackburn Visits Sykes Museum

Dover Tenn.–The Stewart County Historical Society hosted U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn Thursday morning at the W.D. Sykes Museum in Dover. County Mayor Robin Brandon said Blackburn “arrived early and stayed late and couldn’t have been more impressed with Stewart County.”
He said Blackburn wanted to learn more about Stewart County’s part in the 1920 Suffrage Movement and local historians provided information on that. Mayor Brandon said some 50 people were on hand.
Also in attendance were State Rep. Bruce Griffey, R-Paris; Dover City Administrator Gerald Campbell, Commissioners Melissa Henning and Vincent Gray and retired Commissioner Terry Fitzhugh.
