Nashville, Tenn. – Secretary of State Tre Hargett will present a $100,000 grant toward construction of the new Martin Public Library at Friday’s Northwest Tennessee Legislative and Mayoral Breakfast.
The breakfast is set for 9:30 a.m. Friday, February 7, at the Obion River Regional Library Center, located at 542 N. Lindell St., in Martin.
Sen. John Stevens and Rep. Andy Holt will attend the breakfast and presentation.
The $100,000 Library Construction Grant, distributed through the Tennessee State Library and Archives, will help fund the 35,000-square-foot, two-story new Martin Public Library. The facility is expected to be completed by mid-2021. It will house meeting rooms, a demonstration kitchen, multimedia studio, children’s library, youth area, computer lab and more.
The Northwest Tennessee Legislative and Mayoral Breakfast is an opportunity for elected officials to celebrate the value and importance of local libraries in the Obion River Region.
