
Paris, Tenn.—At Thursday night’s Paris City Commission meeting, Finance Director Traci Shannon said retail sales tax revenue was down .25 percent during November compared to last year. However, the city is still ahead fiscal year-to-date by 1.13%.
Shannon said December was another positive month for the General Fund. December was our largest month so far for property tax collections, with almost half collected of the amount budgeted.
Shannon also noted the city had several large expenses during December for various projects which included the Splash Pad, Home Grant, Façade Grant, and the Radio System project.
The city issued five business licenses in December:
New business: The Traveling Barber, Discount Grocery, Off The Square
New owner: A-1 Wrecker Service
