
Erin, Tenn.–Let’s hope that the Luck of the Irish holds out!
The city of Erin and the Houston County Chamber of Commerce has announced the 58th annual Irish Celebration in Erin will go on as planned. The Celebration, which includes activities all day including a huge parade, is set for March 21. The kick-off breakfast will be held at 9 a.m. tomorrow (March 13) at Erin City Hall.
In a statement, officials said, “We are aware of the current situation” with the Coronavirus, but have no current plans to cancel the celebration, which brings thousands of people into Erin and Houston County each year.
Officials said they are monitoring the situation closely. The Local Emergency Planning Committee met yesterday and will keep in contact with the Stat Health Department for updates.
Meanwhile, Erin City Hall and the Houston Co. Courthouse will be taking additional steps to disinfect all public areas.
