Murray, Ky.–Murray State University officials announced today announced that face-to-face instruction will not be utilized beginning March 23 through April 5. Class instruction will continue through online or alternative methods.
Here is the statement from Murray State to its Alumni Association issued today:
“Murray State University continues to proactively monitor and assess the COVID-19, novel Coronavirus. Careful and thoughtful decisions continue to be made and the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff, along with the broader community, will continue to guide us.
The situation surrounding the spread is ever-changing. However, Spring Break is next week for students and as of today remains as scheduled through Friday, March 20.
Beginning on Monday, March 23, class instruction will continue through online or alternative delivery methods, but not face-to-face instruction, through Sunday, April 5. This includes our regional campus sites at Fort Campbell, Henderson, Hopkinsville, Madisonville and Paducah.
During this period of time, we are strongly encouraging students to remain at home unless there are unpreventable circumstances (such as international students, student teachers or practicum and clinical students who need to stay on campus). Residence halls, Winslow Dining Hall and Waterfield Library will be open during this time, however no campus activities and events will take place and resources such as the Wellness Center, gyms and activity areas inside John W. Carr Hall, Wrather Museum, Cutchin Field House (Racer Arena) and Lovett Auditorium will be closed. It is important to recognize the need for social distancing at this time in order to mitigate the possible effects of COVID-19.
