Paris, Tenn.–The City of Paris-Henry Co. Animal Shelter today announced new hours of operation and procedures.

Effective immediately the Animal Shelter will be closing at 3:30 daily and on Saturdays until further notice.

Animal Control Officer Mark Mead said, “Though the way we do business has changed we want everyone to know that the facilities are being maintained and the animals are receiving the same loving care they receive each and every day.”

Since a lot of people are out driving and come by the Shelter to view the animals, on days when it is not raining, staff will be placing the crates with the cats outdoors so that the public can see them.  Of course, as always the dogs can be seen in the outdoor portion of their “temporary” home.

If you visit the shelter and exit your vehicle we ask that you practice social distancing.  Additionally, the Shelter will still be available if you wish to adopt a pet.  However, the number of people in the office at one time will be limited.
