Obion County Reports First COVID-19 Case

Union City, Tenn.–Obion County now has its first confirmed case of COVID-19.

Obion County Mayor Benny McGuire was informed by the Department of Health late Saturday night that an individual had tested positive.

As with the other public notifications in other counties in our area, the identity or location of the individual are not released due to HIPAA privacy rules.

Statewide, as of Saturday, March 28, at 2 p.m., the COVID-19 case count for Tennessee is now 1,373 as of March 28, 2020, including six deaths and 118 hospitalizations. In our area, you can see Carroll 4; Benton 3; Dyer 3; Weakley 1. Henry County’s confirmed case has not shown up on the state count yet due to a lag in reporting (Henry County’s HCMC is also caring for a patient with Coronavirus who is from another county).
