Suspension Of In-Person Court Proceedings Extended Through April

cth-flowers-april-16

Paris, Tenn.– Circuit Court Clerk Mike Wilson and Chancery Court Clerk Mary Burns jointly announce the extension of all local in-person court proceedings through Thursday, April 30, 2020, following an order issued last week by the Tennessee Supreme Court.

Court clerk offices will remain open but in-person court proceedings will be suspended during the coronavirus outbreak.  This order applies to state and local courts.  We are continuing to limit the public’s exposure to the virus while continuing essential court functions.  “This simply means we will continue to operate our court clerk business offices but will not hold any court sessions unless it’s deemed an emergency and falls within the Tennessee Supreme Court’s exceptions or a judge’s discretion,” Wilson stated.

Henry County Chancery and Probate Court dockets scheduled for motion days on April 6 & 23, 2020, have been canceled and rescheduled for May 6 & 27, 2020.

Henry County Circuit Court dockets scheduled for April 9 & 27, 2020, have been canceled and rescheduled for Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.  The May 13, 2020, docket previously set will also remain as planned.

All Henry County General Sessions Civil & Criminal Court dockets scheduled through Thursday, April 30, 2020, have been canceled with exceptions of particular cases as mandated by the Tennessee Supreme Court order.
