On April 16, 2020 at approximately 5:50 PM, Graves Co. Sheriff’s Deputy Jacob Hamm was dispatched to a reckless driver complaint involving a white Ford F150 on KY 381.
The caller stated that the vehicle was traveling south towards Lynnville. Before Deputy Hamm could arrive to attempt to locate the reckless driver, he was advised by dispatch that the truck had crashed into a mobile home on Swan Road. Upon arrival, the driver, Joshua West, age 19 of Lynnville, was outside of the vehicle walking around.
After further investigation and speaking with witnesses, it was determined that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on Swan Road when the operator lost control of his vehicle. The truck went through the front yard of a residence and struck the corner of a mobile home. The truck then struck a parked Dodge Ram in the driveway. The homeowners were home when this took place. One of the homeowners was sitting on a couch approximately 15 feet away from the room that was struck by the truck. The other homeowner was outside in the back yard approximately 15 to 20 feet from the Dodge Ram that was struck.
After speaking to Mr. West and performing Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, Deputy Hamm determined Mr. West to be under the influence. Mr. West refused medical treatment at the scene. He was then arrested and transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center to be medically cleared. He was transported to the Graves County Jail for the following charges.
