Murray, Ky.–A Puryear man was injured in a four-vehicle accident in Murray this morning.

The Murray Police Department responded to the four-vehicle injury collision near the intersection of South 12th Street and Story Avenue at approximately 10:53 a.m. Upon arrival, officers spoke with Jermie Olive, age 41, of Murray, who said he was traveling south on 12th Street and was turning right into BB&T’s parking lot when he was struck in the rear by another vehicle that had been traveling south as well.

Olive said he had a trailer attached to the rear of his vehicle, but when the trailer was struck, the trailer dislodged from his vehicle.  He said the trailer crossed the northbound lanes of travel on 12th Street and entered the parking lot of Save A Lot where it struck a van and a motorcycle that were parked unoccupied in the parking lot.

Officers also spoke with Don Carlton, age 68, of Puryear, who was operating the vehicle that struck Olive’s vehicle.  Carlton said he did not remember what led to the collision.  He was transported by EMS to the emergency room for treatment of possible injuries.

The Murray Police Department was assisted on scene by the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office, Murray Calloway County Ambulance Service, and the Murray Fired Department.
