Graves Co. COVID-19 Positive Case Count Jumps To 41

Graves County, Ky.–The confirmed positive cases for COVID-19 for Graves Co., Kentucky, has jumped to 41, with one death reported. As of Friday, the official case count for Graves Co. listed on the state of Kentucky website was 23.

Elsewhere in our area, Calloway Co. now is reporting 21 positive cases, with one death. Marshall County is reported 12 positive cases.

In today’s update, the Kentucky Department for Public Health has reported a total of 2,707 positive cases statewide, which is an increase from Friday’s report of 2,522 positive cases. Statewide, there are 144 confirmed deaths.

Of the deaths announced on Friday, one person was from Graves County and one was from Muhlenberg County — a 49-year-old man who was incarcerated at the Green River Correctional Complex. He died in a hospital, and had three years left on his sentence, according to Governor Andy Beshear during his daily briefing.

At the Green River Correctional Complex in Western Kentucky, 19 more inmates and 15 staff have tested positive.

The COVID-19 case count for Tennessee is now 6,762 as of April 18, 2020, including 145 deaths, 719 hospitalizations and 3,234 recovered. In our area, the positive case count is: both Henry and Obion Counties 9 each; Carroll 13; Benton 4; Stewart 5; Weakley 6; Dyer 25; Gibson 28; and Houston 4.
