Buchanan, Tenn.–A truck was destroyed in a fire Sunday afternoon in Buchanan but thankfully no one was injured.

Around 5 p.m. Sunday, the Paris Landing Fire Department and Henry County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to 6575 Buchanan Road on a report of a truck on fire.

Fire Chief Reggie Coles said arriving units found a 1994 Dodge Pickup truck in the driveway of the residence fully engulfed in flames.  The owner Allen Gargus said he was moving furniture and had backed the truck up to the front door of the residence and left the engine running. When he came back outside the truck was on fire.

Coles said Gargus was able to pull the truck away from the residence with another vehicle.  The truck was a total loss.  A fuel leak is the suspected cause.  Damage is estimated at $2000.  Three trucks and 12 firefighters were on the scene for 1 hour.
