Benton, Gibson Counties Reporting COVID-19 Deaths

Benton and Gibson Counties are now reporting deaths from the COVID-19 virus, according to today’s update from the Tennessee Department of Health.

Benton County now has five total positive cases, with Gibson County at 32.

Also in our area, Obion County is now listing 12 positive cases (and previously reported one death). Carroll County is now at 13 total (with one death previously reported).

According to today’s figures Henry County remains at 11 positive cases; Dyer County is at 29; Stewart County at 7 and Weakley County at 9.

The State Health Department update is posted on our Facebook pages every day after 2 p.m. when it’s updated.

The COVID-19 case count for Tennessee is now 8,266 as of April 23, 2020, including 170 deaths, 793 hospitalizations and 4,193 recovered. For more information, go to: https://www.tn.gov/health/cedep/ncov.html.

The state has two COVID-19 Public Information numbers that are manned from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at 833 556 2476 and 877 857 2945.
