Paris, Tenn.–Henry County High School officials have announced this year’s Senior Banquet and Prom will be postponed until summer. Dates have not yet been decided for the events, but will be announced later. The postponements are due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the state-wide closing of schools through the current school year.
Principal Michele Webb said, “I had the opportunity to meet virtually with our Senior Student Ambassadors today, and they have been phenomenal in leading events for their Class of 2020! The Student Ambassadors will begin working with our venues to secure new dates for these events, and we will get those to you as they are scheduled. We know that many of our students have not had time to shop for dresses, order tuxes, visit hair stylists, and more. We want them to have time to prepare for their special events. (We may also look to open our Dress 2 Impress Consignment Store by appointment for those wishing to shop for affordable prom fashions on campus!).”
As for the 2020 Graduation Ceremonies, Webb said, “We continue to watch for guidance from the Governor and Tennessee Department of Education. Our desire is to host a traditional graduation and to make one decision on a date, so families can plan accordingly. Thank you for your continued patience.”
