Paris Officials Announce City Hall, Landfill, Animal Shelter Openings; City Parks To Wait

Paris, Tenn.–With Governor Bill Lee’s announcement today that the state will begin cautiously opening things back up city of Paris officials have announced the first steps the city plans to take with its operations. While city parks and the Civic Center will remain closed for the time being, the landfill, animal shelter and City Hall will reopen this weekend or Monday.

In a press release city officials said, “First, we just want to say that we appreciate the sacrifices everyone has made during this crisis. We will stress that this is not over. We must still be very vigilant in our social distancing and continue to stay apart as much as possible.”

LANDFILL:
Will reopen running on their regular schedule (they will be open tomorrow 4/25/20):
Hours: Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Saturday – 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Last trailer allowed to enter 30 minutes prior to closing.

ANIMAL SHELTER:
Will reopen on their regular schedule, however, they will limit the visitors inside the Animal Shelter
to one family at a time.
Hours: Monday – Friday 11:30am to 5:00pm and Saturday 11:00 am to 3:00 pm
Closed Sunday and Holidays

CITY HALL AND POLICE RECORDS OFFICE:
Will reopen to the public on Monday, April 27 with regular hours 7:30 am until 4:30 pm.
We encourage anyone with business at City Hall to call first to determine whether or not your
business can be handled by phone or to schedule an appointment. We will be enforcing only one
person in the lobby at one time.

CIVIC CENTER AND CITY PARKS:
At this time the Civic Center and Parks will remain closed. A decision will be made next week as to
how we begin opening these facilities back up to the public. As we have for the past several weeks
the walking tracks and trout pond are open with social distancing
