Baptist Memorial Hospitals will be resuming elective medical and surgical care at its facilities. Local hospitals include Union City and Huntingdon.

Almost two months ago, we asked you to discuss delaying elective medical and surgical care with your physician during the Covid-19 threat. Today, we are requesting that you speak with your physician about resuming your normal care and procedures at Baptist. Working with our partner physicians, we have designed and implemented the safest possible healthcare environments in preparation for your return to normal use of elective medical and surgical care. Our partner primary care doctors, specialists and surgeons
are prepared to safely meet your needs. We encourage you to reach out to your doctors today and discuss their plan for your healthcare at Baptist.
While under our care you can expect the following changes as a part of Baptist’s new process for keeping our patients safe while in our care:
- Aggressive hand hygiene will be evident.
- All of our staff will be wearing masks.
- We will respect social distancing in public places.
- We will practice on-going screening measures among healthcare workers and patients to identify anyone with fever, symptoms, or exposure history.
- Healthcare workers will be tested for infection.
- All patients will be tested prior to their care.
- We will offer more telemedicine options for your care.
- Visitation will still be limited in all of our facilities in order to prevent any spread of infection to our patients.
- We will create treatment areas throughout our hospitals specifically for non-COVID patients to resume elective treatments.
