Obion Co. Man Held Without Bond In Stabbings

Union City, Tenn.–An Obion County man is being held without bond after his arrest for allegedly stabbing two men during an altercation.

Juan Sarmiento is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and will be arraigned Friday.

According to the press release from the Obion Co. Sheriff’s Office, deputies, with assistance from the THP, responded to a report of a possible stabbing at 438 S. Church Drive in Rives at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Upon arrival, two victims, Jeremy Loraine and Payton Breeden, had already been transported to the Union City Baptist Memorial Hospital by private vehicle. Each victim received multiple stab wounds and said they were both stabbed by Juan Sarmiento during a physical altercation.

Deputies located the suspect just outside the residence in Rives and deputies transported him to the Emergency Room at Baptist Memorial Hospital for a possible head injury.

Once Sarmiento was cleared by ER staff, he was arrested and transported to the Obion County Jail.
