Union City, Tenn.–Five Union City Middle School fifth-graders recently received the prestigious 2020 President’s Education Award for outstanding academic achievement.

Among those honored were Jenna Kate Cross, Kaden Faust, Rachel McClanahan, Madison Pate and Foster Rodgers.

Those students earned the honor by accumulating the highest overall grade point average for the 2019-20 school year.

Each received a certificate signed by President Donald Trump and U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy Devos.

UCMS Principal Lance Morgan announced the winners after consultation with faculty and staff, and guidance counselor Mary Wiggins presented the students their certificates this week.
