Paris, Tenn.–The Sweet Jordan’s Laundry Co. is now open for business and waiting to serve you.

Sweet Jordan’s Ice Cream Shoppe and Coffee Co. has branched out and is now operating a laundry service which will provide jobs for even more special needs employees.

Sweet Jordan’s is the only place for miles around that employs staff with special needs and Co-Owner Tommie St. John said the prospect of providing even more jobs is exciting for the owners and employees, too.

St. John said the team members will wash, dry and fold your laundry for $2 per pound, which includes the detergent and bleach provided by Sweet Jordan’s. There is a small fee for additional essentials, such as pre-treating stains, fabric softener, dryer sheets and hangers.

Team members have been in training for the opening in recent weeks, she said. “One good thing to come out of this COVID-19 situation is that it gave us more time to get everything ready.”

As we reported in articles published earlier, the Laundry Co. has been in the planning stages since the fall of 2019.

St. John said canvas laundry bags with the Sweet Jordan’s Laundry Co. logo on them will be available to buy and can be used over and over again for pickup and drop-off.

Each washed and dried item is folded precisely, she said. “They use folding boards and everything is folded exactly alike.”

The Laundry Co. is located just a few doors down from the Ice Cream Shoppe in the same shopping mall at 849 Volunteer Dr. in Paris.

It will be open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays, closed Sundays.

St. John said, “We look forward to providing you a great laundry service here in Paris and surrounding areas offering local (38242) pickup and delivery for $10. Outside city limits will be $15 up to 30 minute drive.”

The business will be equipped with four washers and eight dryers. A reception area in the front will welcome customers. Sweet Jordan’s has been receiving donations, including 216 bottles of detergent from Kingdom Kids Learning Center of the Westside Baptist Church in Murray.

Sweet Jordan’s was the brainchild of Brad and Tommie St. John, whose son Jordan was born with Down Syndrome. Jordan is the “Sweet Jordan” for whom the Ice Cream Shoppe and Coffee Co. was named. Since opening two years ago, it  has become a favorite spot for young and old in Paris and from miles around, with its comfy surroundings and its wide variety of ice cream, baked goods and coffees.
