Paris, Tenn.–In addition to the established Henry County Circuit Criminal Court docket schedule, Judge Donald Parish has added an additional criminal day to hear cases and pleas for those represented by the Public Defender’s office specifically. It also will be held at a different location.
The additional day is 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, at the Henry County Jail.
Clerk Mike Wilson said, “This will allow some relief from such a heavy court docket during the regular upcoming June 10, 2020 day of Circuit criminal court. Efforts are being made to adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines and Tennessee Supreme Court orders regarding safety protocols and this should help.”
Wilson estimated some 25 cases will be handled.
As RadioNWTN reported last week, an overflow area already has been added for the Henry County Courts in a building across the street from the courthouse.
