Victim Of McKenzie Shooting In Critical Condition; U.S. Marshal’s Service Assisting

McKenzie, Tenn.–The victim of Wednesday night’s shooting in McKenzie is in critical but stable condition at Vanderbilt Medical Center and the U.S. Marshal’s Service is now involved in the investigation.

Weakley County Sheriff’s Captain Randall McGowan identified the victim as 18-year-old Canon Magourik. The shooting occurred in the 1500 block of Union Church Road in the McKenzie section of Weakley Co.

The victim was shot at least seven times by what was described to investigators as two black males driving some type of sport utility vehicle.

He said the U.S. Marshal’s Service, along with police from numerous other agencies, is assisting the sheriff’s office in the search for one of the alleged perpetrators.
