Benton Co. Suspect At Large After Chase

Big Sandy, Tenn.–The Benton County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect in a lengthy pursuit and search that involved area law enforcement, K9 officers and the THP helicopter before dawn this morning.

Sheriff Ken Christopher said the suspect is still at large following the chase that started in the Flatwoods area and moved through Camden, Hwy. 641 N almost to Henry County and areas near Big Sandy.

Spike strips were placed on the roadway by deputies and the vehicle was stopped. However, the suspect exited the vehicle in the 8500 block of Hwy. 69A in the Big Sandy area and fled on foot. The search then was launched and included deputies, K9 officers and the THP helicopter.

The sheriff’s office said they are looking for a white male who is about 6′ tall, some 230 pounds, with brown hair, blue eyes and between 35-45 years old. He has facial hair and was last seen in the Big Sandy area possibly wearing a gray shirt.
