| Paris, Tenn.–Gary Morris presents a $1,000 check from the Western Area Chapter of the TVA Retirees Association along with Donnie Williams and Alan Harris to Paris Mayor Carlton Gerrell and Paris-Henry Co Food Bank. Gerrell also is the President of the Food Bank board. The $1000 donation is to help offset the Food Bank’s expenses during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
This money was made available through a grant from the Bicentennial Volunteers Inc.(BVI). BVI is a non profit organization for TVA retirees. Through BVI, volunteers can get involved in a variety of activities including volunteer work, TVA contract work, and FEMA relief. The Western Area chapter of TVARA consists of five counties. Henry and Stewart Counties in Tennessee and Calloway, Trigg and Marshall Counties in Kentucky. Each of the five counties are to receive checks of $1000. |
