Springville, Tenn.–A second fire at the former Hilltop Lodge is being investigated as deliberate.
The former Lodge was already a total loss when it burned in March but the shell of the structure had remained. The Lodge hasn’t been utilized for years.
The Paris Landing Fire Department and Henry County Sheriff’s officers were dispatched to 5383 East Antioch Road in Springville around 3 p.m. Sunday for a report of a structure fire at the old Hilltop Lodge. Arriving units found the previously burned structure fully engulfed in flames.
Paris Landing Fire Chief Reggie Coles said, “Neighbors stated they saw a vehicle leave the scene at a high rate of speed just prior to the fire breaking out. The owner Mr. Tracy Bruff could not be reached for comment.”
The investigation has been turned over to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office for further investigation. Four trucks and 12 Firefighters were on the scene for 3 ½ hours.
