
Union City, Tenn.–Union City Police are warning drug users that if they have purchased cocaine in any form within the past 72 hours to dispose of it immediately.
The department is investigating three confirmed overdoses and multiple unconfirmed reports of overdoses. In a press release, officers said, “We are not sure at this time what is causing this reaction. Your life may be at risk, please do not take the chance.”
The department released police reports from two of the overdoses, both of which occurred Saturday at apartments on Nash Street. In one report, officers were called to the apartment and found an unresponsive male sitting in a chair outside the apartment. When they arrived, he still had a pulse and shallow breathing and did eventually respond to a sternum rub. In the other incident, another woman was found laying on the floor of her apartment. Officers performed a sternum rub but got no response. Her breathing was irregular and she did have a pulse.
Officers administered two doses of Narcan and she was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
