Dresden, Tenn.–Weakley County Schools will delay its opening to August 17. That was the decision of the board of education Monday night.
The district originally had planned to open August 3 this year, but Director of Schools Randy Frazier recommended a delay due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in Weakley County.
First day of school for teachers will now be July 27.
The detailed plan for reopening will be posted on the Weakley County Schools Facebook page later today.
The meeting was broadcast on Facebook Live last night but with audio difficulties. School officials will be re-broadcasting the meeting today on its YouTube channel.
