Wirgau Announces His Candidacy For Henry County Mayor

tim-wirgau

Paris, Tenn.- Former State Representative Tim Wirgau has announced his candidacy for the position of Henry County Mayor following Monday night’s announcement by County Mayor Brent Greer that he intends to retire.

Wirgau said, “After conversations with family, friends and several members of the community I had already determined I was going to be a candidate in 2022. Mayor Greer’s retirement announcement simply moves up that timeline. Having served this county as a county commissioner, State Representative, business owner and served on numerous boards I feel that I am a qualified candidate.”

Wirgau said, “It is important that we have someone with vast experience to fill the shoes of Mayor Greer. I have been fortunate to serve this county and build vital relationships within our State to help our county move forward with much needed projects and grants. Working together with all leaders and constituents of Henry County gives me the ability to fill those shoes. Understanding government, having a strong work ethic, as well as being able to work with county commissioners who serve our county are other integral components to this position.”

“We are in unprecedented times and we need strong proven leadership,” Wirgau said.  “I am willing to make tough decisions and admit I am not always right without letting emotions become involved, which is essential to this role. Although the rules of how this election will take place are not yet clarified it is quite sure there will be an election in November for the county Mayor. Therefore I am asking for support and votes to fill the vacancy of county Mayor at that time.”
