
Paris and Union City, Tenn.–Voter turnout during the early voting period continues to be heavy, with 1,232 voting so far in Henry County and 849 so far in Obion County. The early voting period began Friday and runs through August 1.
In Henry County, 199 people voted on Wednesday, with 198 voting in Obion County.
According to Henry County Elections Administrator DeLaina Green, the breakdown in Henry County so far: Democrat ballot 341, Republican ballot 865 and general, 26.
According to Obion County Elections Administrator Leigh Ann Schlager, the breakdown in her county is: Democrat ballot 110, Republican 733 and general 6.
Early voting is always held at County Election Commission offices, with Henry County’s located on Grove Hill in the former Weston Hall Building. The address is 215 Grove Blvd., Suite B.
In Henry County, early voting hours are: M-W-F, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; T-Th 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to noon.
The Obion County Elections Office is at 308 Bill Burnett Circle, Union City. In Obion County, early voting hours are: M-F, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 9-noon.
Election Day is Thursday, August 6, at which time voting will take place at the various polling places in each county.
COVID-19 Safety protocols including disposable gloves, disposable pens, hand sanitizing stations, etc. are in place at elections offices.
