
At approximately 1:55 p.m., Kentucky State Police, Post 1 received a call from Trigg County Dispatch requesting a detective respond to a cemetery after the discovery of human remains in a wood line. Prior to the arrival of detectives with Kentucky State Police Post 1, deputies with the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office responded to the cemetery, located off Old Rocky Point Road near Cadiz, and confirmed the remains were those of a human. Initial investigation by Post 1 detectives shows the remains were decomposed and there was no form of identification with the body. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, August 7th at the Western Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Madisonville, Kentucky.
The investigation is ongoing at this time by Detective David Dick. Kentucky State Police, Post 1 was assisted on scene by the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office and the Trigg County Coroner.
