UC To Pre-Sell Tickets For Friday Game At Adamsville; Tornadoes Again Looking For Week 4 Foe

By Mike Hutchens, UC Schools Communications Director

Union City, Tenn.–Union City will pre-sell tickets for Friday night’s football game at Adamsville.

UC school officials have been allotted 250 tickets for the contest by the A’ville administration, which said they will allow 1,200 fans all totaled in attendance for the Region 7-2A opener for both teams.

Advance tickets will be sold locally in the lobby of UCHS both Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 8-10 o’clock. Those tickets will cost $6 apiece if bought here. Should a fan elect to try and purchase a ticket at the gate Friday night, they will go for $8 each.

On another note, the Golden Tornadoes’ 2020 schedule has again been altered by the effects of COVID-19.

Slated to play at South Fulton next week (Sept. 11), Union City is now looking for another opponent for that date after the Red Devils had a player test positive last week and thus were forced to shut down their program for two weeks.

SF ironically already had its game against Gleason (Aug. 28) canceled earlier in the day when the Bulldogs had a positive coronavirus test.

South Fulton’s Region 7-1A game this week against Greenfield was likewise postponed due to the pandemic protocol, but the Red Devils then called Union City and asked out of next week’s non-league matchup in order to play a make-up contest against Greenfield.

UC officials obliged, but now are looking for a fill-in opponent to replace SF.

Tornado Athletic Director Shane Sisco said he and head coach Nick Markle would work into mid-week next week — if needed — to try and fill the date.
