Paris, Tenn.–A crowd of some 100 people gathered at the Eiffel Tower in Paris in observance of International Overdose Awareness Day. Organized by the Henry County Prevention Coalition and Henry County Health Department, speakers included Assistant District Attorney Rebecca Griffey and staff from Celebrate Recovery and The Hope Center. The Eiffel Tower was lit up purple to commemorate the event and a candelight vigil and moment of silence was held to remember the over 1,800 people who die each year in Tennessee from drug overdoses.
