Subcontractor Injured In Electrical Accident; Power Restored To Lake Area

Buchanan, Tenn.–A subcontractor was injured this afternoon in the electrical accident which caused the widespread power outage in the Paris Landing area.

Henry County Interim Sheriff Damon Lowe said the subcontractor for a telecommunications company installing power in the lake area was in a bucket truck and accidentally cut one of the lines near the Security Bank branch on Hwy. 79N.

Lowe said, “He was airlifted but he was awake and alert when they were caring for him.”

By 3:10 p.m., the Paris Board of Public Utilities had fully restored power to the area.

The outage happened around 2:45 p.m. involving roughly 1,500 customers without power in the Paris Landing area.

According to Paris Board of Public Utilities, the outage included the Buchanan Resort area, Antioch, Russwood, and up Hwy 79 North to Lakewood School as well.
