Calloway County Shooting Leaves One Dead

Murray, Ky.–On Monday, December 21, 2020, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Deputies with the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2800 block of Cook Store Trail for a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they located a male outside the residence with an apparent gunshot wound.
Murray-Calloway County Emergency Medical Services transported a 53 year old Hispanic male, of Murray, Kentucky, to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound.
The male was pronounced dead at 1:33 p.m. by Calloway County Coroner Ricky Garland. As of the time of this news release, the victim’s next of kin have not been located nor notified. There will be an autopsy conducted tomorrow at the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
Preliminary investigation has shown the shooting to have been an isolated incident and there does not appear to be any ongoing danger to the community. The investigation is continuing by the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office.
